Ghana Black Stars new defender Denis Odoi has set a new record by being the oldest debutante called into the team.
The previous record was held by Ernest Asante who got his maiden call up at 33 years and 38 days in 2019 after several years of knocking on the Black Stars.
Now, Odoi who is 33 years and 300 days old is officially the oldest new player ever called into the Black Stars. If he plays against Nigeria also, he will again break another record held by Ernest Asante.
Other players in the top five list of oldest new players ever called into the Black Stars are Lloyd Owusu, Manuel Junior Agogo and Derek Asamoah.
