Former Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has lauded Black Stars goalkeeper Joseph Luke Wollacott for his impressive performance in the first leg of the World Cup playoff against Nigeria in Kumasi last Friday.
The England-based netminder made a crucial save halfway through the second half to deny Nigeria’s Moses Simon from hitting the back of the net.
Wollacott also made some brave saves later in the game to earn admiration from the ex-Black Stars first-choice shot-stopper.
“You are the reason why we didn’t concede last night. That your great and crucial stop to deny Nigeria a goal. Composure, calmness, position, position of the hand. Keep the focus goalie,” he wrote on Twitter.
He is is expected to start when the team faces Nigeria in the second leg on Tuesday in Abuja.

The Black Stars who have been training at the Baba Yara Stadium after Friday’s match, will leave for Abuja on Monday. Ghana will travel via a chattered flight.
The team will then train at the Mashood Abiola stadium on Monday, the venue for the crucial second leg.
In the first leg at the Baba Yara sports stadium, coach Otto Addo handed debuts to Dennis Odoi and Felix Afena-Gyan, both of whom impressed.
At least a score draw will see Ghana seal qualification to the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
The second leg will be played on Tuesday night at the Mashood Abiola stadium.
