Kwame Peprah, the former Ghana Premier League top scorer, says he’s surprised he hasn’t been called up to the Black Stars yet despite his performances for Orlando Pirates.
Peprah ended up as the GPL season as the top scorer last season before joining Orlando Pirates in South Africa for the 2021/22 season.
The 21-year-old scored seven goals in his first season in the South African Premier Soccer League, helping his team to a sixth-place finish.
The forward has revealed his performances in the last year merit a call to the national team.
“Every Ghanaian player’s dream is to join the national team, to work and to support and be able to support his country. Considering my former performances with King Faisal and also this season at Orlando Pirates, I think I have done enough to be handed a call-up,” he told Joy Sports.
“As the type of striker that I am, I can play on the left-wing, the right-wing and also as the centre-forward. My aerial duels are very good – that I can say. I think deserving a call-up is not a bad idea.
“The current players in the [Black Stars] camp all also deserve the call-up so I wish them all the best of luck in the coming games.”
