Bundesliga club SV Ried have completed the signing of Germany-born Ghanaian winger Agyemang Diawusie on a free transfer.

Bundesliga club SV Ried have completed the signing of Germany-born Ghanaian winger Agyemang Diawusie on a free transfer.

Diawusie joins the club on a two-year deal after successful negotiations and passing his medical.

The 24-year-old part ways with Bundesliga 2 side Dynamo Dresden following the expirations of his contract at the end of last season.

He made 17 appearances across all competitions for Dynamo Dresden and provided three assists.

The FC Ingolstadt 04 winger began his career at Regensburg Youth, he left to Nurnberg to continue his development.

Diawusie later joined RB Leipzig U19 where he spent two seasons before gaining first team status in 2018. He had loan spells at Wehen and Ingolstadt before signing for Dresden in 2020.

“With the departures of Ante Bajic and Nene, we lost two players who brought a high tempo into our game. In preparation we saw that a player with depth would do us good on offense. We took our time with the decision and didn’t want to rush things.

”Agyemang Diawusie brings a high pace and is good at one-on-one dribbling. With these attributes, he’s the reinforcement we’re looking for on the offensive,” said Thomas Reicheltshammer, sporting director for SV Guntamatic Ried.

“I’m really happy to finally be able to step on the gas again and be on the pitch. It’s now time for me to show my performance consistently for a year. I want to use the platform that SV Guntamatic Ried offers me. I’m good at one-on-ones, I’m fast and I want to help the team with these strengths,” Diawusie said.

In 2016, he was called up for a training camp for the Germany U19 team in Spain, during which he took part in a friendly against the Czech Republic.

Diawusie had previously appeared for the under-15 national team three times.
