Crystal Palace were beaten 2-0 at home by Arsenal on the opening day of the new English Premier League season as Ghana attacker Jordan Ayew completed his first 90 minute-action of the season.
The Black Stars striker had a good pre-season and kept his place in the starting line-up of Palace but could not help his team score against the Gunners.
Another Ghanaian player Jeffrey Schlupp was handed a start by Palace manager Patrick Vieira but the left-sided midfielder was replaced in the 86th minute.
