Ghana international, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, believes the Ghana Football Association (GFA) should consider taking Asamoah Gyan to the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a striker’s coach.
Gyan has revealed he has plans to return to the Black Stars team ahead of the World Cup to be staged in Qatar later this year.
The 36-year-old made his plans known during an interview with John Bennett of BBC though he added that he has not spoken with anyone about his return.
However, Agyemang-Badu says it will rather be better for the Ghana FA to take Gyan there as a coach to help with the striking department.
“What we can offer him is for him to be there to help with the striking side as the striker’s coach but for the field of play, he can never be ready for the World Cup,” he told JoySports.
The Black Stars will play Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea during the group stages of the 2022 World Cup.
