‘Ghana has proven that we are a tournament team’ – Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says Ghana has always proven to be a tournament team despite the shambolic performance in recent friendly games.

The German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund trainer scout has full believe that the Black Stars will perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year.

According to the coach, he’s very ready and believes everybody is ready for the World Cup in Qatar which starts in November this year.

“I’m ready (for World Cup), everybody is ready”, Otto Addo said in an interview.

“We qualified that’s why we have to be there. In times past, Ghana has proven that we are a tournament team. I know we have to improve.”

Ghana suffered a heavy and humiliating defeat to the Selacao in Le Havre in France on Friday evening at the Stade Oceane as they succumbed to a 3-0 loss.

Ghana beat minnows Nicaragua 1-0 in Spain on Tuesday evening which came as a surprise to many Ghanaians due to the unimpressive display from the team.

Ghana reached the last 16 in their first ever FIFA World Cup appearance in Germany in 2006 and nearly got to the semi-final in 2010 if not for Asamoah Gyan’s last-gasp penalty miss but messed up at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with non footballing issues.

The Black Stars of Africa are making their fourth appearance at the Mundial this November – December in Qatar.
