Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has urged the Black Stars team to shine against Portugal today in Doha in their 2022 FIFA World Cup opener.
Appiah was the leader for the Ghana Black Stars when they made their debut in the world cup tournaments in 2006 in Germany.
“My Guys today is yet another day to prove to the world that we are the only Black star that shines.”
“The battle may seem tough but remember you are not alone. Ghana and Africa is behind you. Fight with team work, determination and perseverance… It is possible”, he Tweeted.
Ghana will start their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a game against European giant Portugal today at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash against the Asian powerhouse South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
The Black Stars who are making their fourth FIFA appearance will end their group stage campaign with a clash against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
