Ghana international Emmanuel Essiam made his maiden appearance for Basel in their Schweizer Cup win over Grasshopper Club Zurich.
The Ghanaian made a late cameo in the game as the Swiss giants recorded a thumping win over their opponents in a fixture played on Wednesday, February 1.
Essiam joined the Swiss side from betPawa Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea in January 2022 and has been with the first team as they manage his adaptation.
The player was introduced in the game with the score already at 5-3 in favour of Basel.
The 19-year-old will hope the cameo is a good start for more playing opportunities in the games ahead.
