Describing his side’s goalless draw against Asante Kotoko as challenging, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, King Faisal’s new head coach, took charge of his first game in the Kumasi derby as the new boss of the In Sha Allah team.

Despite his appointment being confirmed shortly before the game, which was the outstanding match of week 21 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the former Eleven Wonders and Medeama SC coach managed to secure a decent draw against the defending champions.

After the game, Osei-Fosu stated that it was a challenging match, as he had only one training session with the team, and they went down to ten men, which made them focus on defending and avoiding conceding. He emphasized that they wanted to win, but football can be unpredictable.

“It was a difficult game, considering I had only one session with the team. We also went down to ten men, so we had to defend and not concede. We wanted to win, trust me, we wanted to win. But it’s football.”

Osei-Fosu, who is confident in his coaching abilities, believes that he can lead King Faisal, who are currently 10th on the league table with 32 points, to avoid relegation.

He stated that he is results-oriented and had saved Dreams FC before, and he is determined to do the same for King Faisal.

“The reality is that I’m results-oriented. I saved Dreams FC, and I’m here to save King Faisal too.”
