Following his inappropriate behavior on social media, Asante Kotoko has suspended their winger Joseph Amoako indefinitely.
The 20-year-old was punished for his unacceptable conduct on social media. Amoako was on loan at the Swedish club Helsingborgs IF but returned to Ghana in March after being wrongfully convicted of rape and later found not guilty.
According to the club’s statement, Amoako’s suspension will remain in effect until the club’s disciplinary procedures are completed.
Since his return to Ghana, the young winger has been training with his parent club to stay fit for next season but struggled to find playing time during his loan spell in Sweden, where he played only ten games and a total of 295 minutes in all competitions.
In a leaked audio that has been circulating on social media, the player can be heard expressing his concerns about some internal challenges at the club.
He discussed how the squad had been criticized by fans after losing games, despite their salaries being in arrears.
