Both King Faisal and Dreams FC have earned their chance to claim their first major trophy after advancing to the final of the Ghanaian FA Cup over the weekend.

Dreams FC was the first team to secure their place in the final, displaying a determined performance against Division One League side Skyy FC in a tense encounter on Saturday.

Early goals from Sylvester Simba and Huzaif Ali set Dreams FC on the path to victory. Simba broke the deadlock just two minutes into the game, while Ali doubled their lead in the 18th minute.

Skyy FC had an opportunity to pull one back when they were awarded a penalty, but Baba Hamadu Musah failed to convert from the spot. However, Eric Antwi Konadu managed to score for Skyy FC before halftime, reducing the deficit.

On Sunday, King Faisal delivered an exciting match against Nsoatreman at the Dr Kwame Kyei Stadium in Abrankese. Falling behind to an Nsoatreman penalty expertly taken by Samuel Ofori in the ninth minute, King Faisal showed resilience.

Baba Yahaya equalized for King Faisal in the 35th minute, and Frimpong Boateng’s half-volley found the back of the net just before halftime, giving them the lead. In the second half, Kwame Nana Junior leveled the score for Nsoatreman in the 55th minute, but Samuel Adom Antwi swiftly restored King Faisal’s lead in the 64th minute.

With a determined defensive effort, the “Insha Allah Boys” held on to secure a hard-fought victory and secure their place in the final against Dreams FC, vying for the coveted trophy.

The final is scheduled for June 17, with the winner earning qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup. For both teams, it represents an opportunity to clinch a trophy and participate in African football, an opportunity that the players will undoubtedly relish.
