Exclusive: Free agent Maxwell Abbey Quaye joins Norwegian club Raufoss IL

Former Accra Great Olympics FC star player, Maxwell Abbey Quaye has joined Norwegian club Raufoss IL, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.

He will join the club on a three-year deal as a free agent after leaving Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics at the start of the 2022-23 season.

He was a member of the Ghana Black Stars team during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon when Ghana suffered elimination from the tournament at the group stages.

He was one of the most important players for the DADE Boys during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons respectively for the Blue and Whites outfit.

The 25-year-old striker scored 23 goals in 61 matches across two seasons which earned him a spot in the senior national team and the Black Galaxies team.

His new club are tenth on the league table after eight matches with nine points.
