‘Focus on avoiding relegation on Sunday’ – Hearts of Oak fans told

Hearts of Oak’s Public Relations Officer, Kwame Opare Addo, has urged the club’s fans to maintain a positive outlook ahead of the team’s final match of the season, instead of dwelling on their recent poor form.

After playing 33 matches, the Phobians have suffered 12 defeats, including a recent four-match losing streak that has dropped them to 11th position in the league standings.

Their hopes of securing a top-four finish have faded, and they now find themselves in a precarious position, just three points above the relegation zone, alongside five other teams also fighting for survival on the last day.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the team, Opare Addo advised the fans to adopt a positive mindset as they approach the final match.

“When the team wins, everyone wants to take credit, but if the results are negative, people start pointing fingers at individuals,” Opare Addo stated.

“I believe we should advise ourselves not to dwell too much on the past, but rather focus on the future tasks ahead. We have suffered four consecutive defeats, and this is very painful. I know that no true Hearts of Oak supporter will take it lightly. However, if we dwell on these four losses and allow them to weigh us down, we will not be able to concentrate on our last game. Ultimately, our complaints and frustrations will amount to nothing.”

In their final match of the season, Hearts of Oak will face Berekum Chelsea, who currently sit in 10th place in the league table.
