Black Meteors of Ghana head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, openly acknowledges that his team’s performance fell short and left Ghanaians disappointed, especially those who were eagerly anticipating the country’s return to men’s soccer at the Olympic Games after nearly two decades.
Ghana’s hopes were dashed as they were eliminated from the ongoing Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Morocco following a draw with Guinea on Friday night.
With four points from three matches, the Meteors narrowly missed out on the second spot in Group A to Guinea due to goal difference.
Addressing the media in a post-match press conference, the experienced tactician expressed the team’s awareness of their disappointing showing in the competition.
However, he assured that they would analyze their performance and identify areas that need improvement for future endeavors.
“We have disappointed Ghanaians and ourselves but we give thanks to God in every situation and like I said, we will analyze and know what didn’t go well.”
