Gideon Jung’s exceptional performance in Greuther Furth’s resounding victory against Paderborn has earned him a well-deserved spot in Sofascore’s German Bundesliga 2 Team of the Week.

Jung played the full 90 minutes of the game and played a crucial role in helping his team secure a clean sheet in their dominant win.

The impressive display began with Amindo Sieb’s energetic assertion in the 35th minute, as he passed the ball to Branimir Hrgota. The captain skillfully maneuvered around Huth in the penalty area and confidently slotted the ball into the empty net, giving Greuther Furth a 1-0 lead.

Julian Green, who was outstanding throughout the match, showcased his skills by dribbling past three opponents before delivering a precise cross over a defender and the goalkeeper. Tim Lemperle was perfectly positioned at the far post to nod the ball home in the 43rd minute, extending the lead to 2-0.

The captain continued to shine, providing an excellent assist with a flick into Hrgota’s run. Hrgota’s direct shot sailed past the falling-out keeper Huth, securing the team’s third goal and a comfortable 3-0 advantage.

In the 77th minute, after a skillful ball relay involving numerous opponents, Armindo Sieb entered the box with determination. He calmly and accurately placed the ball into the lower left corner, further widening the gap to 4-0.

Kerim Calhanoglou showcased his proficiency with a left-footed cross, allowing Damian Michalski to rush in from the back and head the ball into the far post, sealing a convincing 5-0 victory.
