Asante Kotoko have reached an agreement with Bofoakwa Tano to secure the services of the highly-talented right-back, Samuel Asamoah, in the ongoing transfer window.
A recent report from Sportsworldghana.com indicated that discussions had commenced between the Porcupines and the newly-promoted Premier League side for the potential signing of the defender. However, Alexander Ababio, the CEO of Bofoakwa Tano, confirmed in an interview with Kumasi-based Silver FM that a deal has been finalized between the two clubs. The formalization of the agreement is expected to take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
Ababio stated, “Samuel Asamoah’s move to Kotoko will be completed by Thursday.”
Asamoah is presently situated in Kumasi, as he did not join Bofoakwa for their pre-season activities in Obuasi.

Renowned for his exceptional defensive prowess and his adeptness in supporting attacks from the right wing, Samuel Asamoah has garnered recognition for his standout performances with Bofoakwa Tano in recent seasons.
His consistent displays and versatile skills have not gone unnoticed by scouts and coaches across the country, particularly following his contributions to Bofoakwa Tano’s successful promotion back to the top tier of Ghanaian football.
The management and coaching staff of Asante Kotoko have identified the right-back position as a crucial area for reinforcement, and Samuel Asamoah aligns perfectly with the profile of the player desired by coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
