Asante Kotoko, along with several other Ghana Premier League clubs, are in pursuit of Baba Hamadu Musah, the talented forward from Skyy FC who has consistently showcased his skills over the past few years for the Daboase-based team.
Standing tall as a forward, Musah’s performance at St Martin’s Park has been nothing short of remarkable and steady. He clinched the title of top scorer in the 2022/23 Division One League with an impressive tally of 20 goals—marking the highest number in the history of the competition. Additionally, he contributed 11 assists and secured seven Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
Despite his exceptional contributions, Musah’s efforts weren’t enough to secure Skyy FC’s promotion to the topflight, as they finished in second place behind Nations FC in zone two.
In the ongoing Division One League (DOL) Super Cup, in which they are the reigning champions, Baba Hamadu has already scored three goals in two matches, and he aims to add more to his tally in the upcoming games.
Following his crucial goal that led his team to a narrow victory over Young Apostles last Wednesday, the accomplished striker revealed that he has received a multitude of offers, including one from Kotoko. He further disclosed that he’s currently engaged in discussions with his management regarding his next move, with plans to finalize the decision by the end of the upcoming week. In an interview with Takoradi-based Connect FM, he stated:
“Yes is true l have received a lot of offers from clubs and am discussing it with my management for a possible move”
“By the end of this week, I will make a decision on the team I will play in the upcoming season.
“About 6 to 7 teams have called me for my service, Kotoko, Nations FC, Heart of Lions, Dreams FC, among others have all called.”
“But I can tell you that I won’t play in Division One League again, it was my target to win the goal king in Division One, and with the help of God, my teammates and fans I was able to win the goal king in Division One, so I can say that for now my work at Division One is done, my job at Division One is 90% done.”
Skyy FC, having secured victories in their initial two matches, will conclude the first phase of the competition by facing Nzema Kotoko in their final group game.
