“It has always been one of my qualities” – Mohammed Kudus reveals secret behind his dribbling ability

Recently-signed West Ham United player, Kudus Mohammed, has shed light on how he discovered and honed his dribbling prowess from a young age, and how he has maintained this skill throughout his career.

The confirmation of the 23-year-old’s transfer to West Ham arrived on a Sunday morning, securing him with a five-year contract in a deal reportedly valued around €45 million, transitioning him from AFC Ajax.

As a new member of the East London-based team, Kudus Mohammed aims to exert extra effort to secure his place within the squad and eventually establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup. His remarkable talent has already captured the attention and admiration of manager David Moyes.

During a Q&A session with the club’s official media, the remarkable Ghanaian playmaker openly acknowledged that dribbling stands as his strongest attribute on the field and expressed his intentions to refine this skill in the future.

“Yeah, I think it has always been one of my qualities and I think it started from my childhood club in Ghana, Strong Tower. The coach there gave me the freedom as I was young then and it wasn’t really about the results. It was just playing for the passion and for fun, so he just gave me the role to just any time I got the ball, to just try and take on as many men as I can so. Naturally, I’ve been built with this low centre of gravity to the ground, so it’s easy for me to turn around. I’ve worked on that in the gym as well, since I’ve seen that is my strength, so I just keep building on it and that’s the biggest things that helped me with my dribbling.”

Kudus Mohammed is anticipated to potentially make his debut appearance for West Ham United in the upcoming Friday match against Luton Town, marking the opening fixture of Premier League match-week four.

Additionally, he is expected to be included in coach Chris Hughton’s lineup for the game against the Central African Republic in the early days of next month as part of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
