Ghana’s striker, Jordan Ayew, expressed his feelings after achieving the distinction of becoming the fourth most capped player in the history of the Black Stars.
This milestone was attained during his participation in Ghana’s 2-1 victory over the Central African Republic, which marked his 91st appearance for the national team.
During a post-match interview, Jordan Ayew expressed his surprise and pride at reaching this achievement, emphasizing his youthfulness and determination to continue his international career.
“I’m surprised, I didn’t even know, is a proud moment, it’s an achievement and you know I’m still young and I have to keep going. I feel fit, I feel strong and I know that I still have more years to come,” Jordan Ayew said.
He went on to acknowledge the privilege of starting his national team journey at a young age, viewing it as a positive aspect of his career. Jordan Ayew expressed gratitude to all the managers who have guided him throughout his international journey and reiterated his commitment to continuing to represent his country with dedication.
“It’s a blessing I was able to start for the national team very early, it’s a positive thing and I just want to thank all the managers that were here in the past and even now, and I really want to thank them for the confidence, I need to keep going because I have a lot of years ahead of me.” remarked Jordan Ayew.
With his eyes set on the future, Jordan Ayew looks forward to adding to his caps tally and hopes to reach 92 caps when Ghana faces Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
