2022-23 Ghana Premier League top scorer Abednego Tetteh is considering retirement after Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton snubbed him, according to reports.
The 2022-23 best goal scorer on the local scene has been overlooked consistently by the technical team of Ghana’s Black Stars team.
Sportsworldghana.com understands that, the former Accra Hearts of Oak SC and Bechem United FC star player is thinking about retiring from playing active football.
The 32-year-old impressively netted 18 goals across the season to help his side end the campaign in a respectable fifth position.
Tetteh was competing for the top scorer’s gong with Bechem United’s Hafiz Konkoni and Tamale City’s Sampson Eduku.
However, he beat both to the prize, with Konkoni’s return of 15 goals and Eduku’s 14 goals falling short at the end of a keenly-contested golden boot race.
This achievement became a redemption for Tetteh, who endured a miserable spell at Hearts of Oak the season before, after being frozen out of the squad.
Despite his impeccable feets and change of fortune, the striker has been snubbed by Ghana’s national teams coaches which according to reports has frustrated the attacker to think of retirement.
