Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC have urged their fans and the public to disregard reports that they have moved their home venue for the CAF Champions League to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The Mauve and Yellows played their CAF Champions League qualifiers against Milo FC and AC Horoya at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
However, it was reported by a section of the media that the club has decided to move away from Cape Coast to play their group stage games in Kumasi.
In a statement, the club denied the news adding that they have only submitted the newly constructed Tarkwa T&A Stadium to CAF for the group stage games.

We bring to the notice of our supporters and the sporting public that Medeama Sporting Club has not selected the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi as its home venue for the group stage of the 2023-24 CAF Champions League.
The club has chosen the T and A Stadium in Tarkwa as its first option, awaiting inspection and clearance from the continent’s governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Currently, the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and the Cape Coast Stadium remain the only TWO approved venues for the group phase of the CAF inter-club competition.
The two venues are under consideration together with the newly built T and A Stadium in Tarkwa.
The Cape Coast Stadium served as the home venue of the team during the preliminary round with a decision on the permanent venue for the group stage to be made soon.
We want to use this opportunity to thank Ghanaians for their massive show of support to the club in the Africa elite inter-club competition.
Regardless of the venue chosen for our home matches, we are confident that Ghanaians will turn up in their numbers to support the team to thrive.
