Sporting Club Casablanca 4-1 JKT Queens
Sporting Club Casablanca of Morocco thrashed JKT Queens of Tanzania by 4-1 to secure a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League in Ivory Coast.
In a make-or-break match, the Moroccans seized the opportunity when Mwaipaja was sent off in the 29th minute.
The goals started flowing as Hajri converted a 30th-minute spot kick. Moutaji, Koffi and Kokora finished the Tanzanians by each scoring a goal. The results helped Sporting Club Casablanca secure a semi-final spot.
Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 Athletico Abidjan
In the other game in Group A, Mamelodi Sundowns made it 3 wins in 3 group-stage games by beating Athletico Abidjan 3-0 with a brace from Tholakele Tebogo and Morifi’s opener in the 77th minute eliminating the Ivorians.
The Bafana Ba Style was a different team in the second half as they scored the 3 goals in a space of 10 minutes.
The Brazilians topped the group with 9 points, Sporting Club Casablanca finished second with 4 while JKT Queens and Athletico Abidjan finished 3rd and 4th with 3 and 1 points respectively.
