Tano Bofoakwa must not play at the ”Sunyani Coronation Park” again for the rest of the season

In Obrafour’s “Nya nteteɛ pa”, 🎶 basabasayɛ a ɛrekc so wc agopramaso, atoyerɛnkyɛm bɛba a, ɛnam hwan so? Never, yɛnni Mose more so. Abufuo bi wc wo mu a, fa kwan pa so. Ɔbrafoc, menkae mo ɛyaw. Ɛmom, May 9th, May 9th, May 9th 🎶.

Let’s roll back the years to 2003 when Obrafour released his 4th LP, Nteteɛ Pa.
“Nya nteteɛ pa” was the lead single and it coincided with then vice-president Aliu Mahama’s quest to fight indiscipline among Ghanaians in all sectors- from politicians to pastors,  from teachers to traders,  from football fans to musicians, from lawyers to partygoers etc.

Tano Bofoakwa hosted Nsoatreman on Sunday afternoon at the Sunyani Coronation Park in a feisty Bono derby. The game ended goalless draw with hooliganism and indiscipline stealing the headline in the derby.

As of 6:40 am on Monday, On Nsoatreman’s official X account, their P.R.O, Gyempeh K. Joel tweeted, ” Our head coach,  Maxwell Konadu is yet to be back from being unconscious.

“He got to the hospital unconscious and back conscious in two hours, but unfortunately went back around 10 PM, and still yet to be back active. Still in the hospital, let’s pray for our coach”.

Some Ghanaian football fans behave like animals because learning is never in their DNA. Assaulting match officials, opponents, team officials and team buses has become part and parcel of our game.

The embarrassment can never be measured as Maxwell Konadu was beaten to a pulp and is still yet to recover from unconsciousness.

The laws always take it easy on culprits as teams, officials and fans assault referees and opponents officials without being dealt with.

In March 2022, Referee Emmanuel Adu Quansah received some beatings as well as his other assistants, Courage Kuedufia and Jaspa Adenyo.

RTU fans accused the referee and his assistant of being unfair and denied them penalties hence they decided to put the laws into their own hands by beating the officials.

They even had the guts to break into the inner perimeter of the stadium and attack the match officials.

Instead of being banned for the rest of the season from home,  the FA softly punished RTU and the case died.

Now,  the indiscipline in our football venues has become regular since the FA has decided to be friends with the notorious football clubs and their fans.

Maxwell Konadu is in a very critical condition and I expect the GFA to discontinue the league to send a signal to the hooligans on how displeased they are with Some football fans.

Bofakwa Tano must not be allowed to play a game at the Sunyani Coronation Park or
any venue closer to them for the rest of the season. Severe punishment must be given to Tano Bofoakwa for their stupidity.

Ghana needs to conduct a root-and-branch review of our football. Our football is in a total mess as we are getting nearer to the level where none of our venues can be classified among the FIFA-approved ones on the continent.

The May 9th disaster needs not to be recalled always as Obrafour said but we must make sure it doesn’t happen again. We need a huge education for football fans across the nation.

With 6 games played at home so far, Tano Bofoakwa must not be allowed to play their other 11 home games at the Sunyani Coronation Park if we are ready to deal with hooligans.
