Ghanaian center-back Alexander Djiku is elated after contributing to Fenerbahce’s commanding 4-0 victory over Spartak Trnava in their Europa Conference League group stage finale, securing their spot in the Round of 16.
Djiku, 29, played a crucial role, featuring for 78 minutes before being substituted. This match marked his fourth appearance in the competition, starting in three of them.
Fenerbahce’s triumph elevated them to the top of Group H, ensuring progression as group winners.
Taking to social media, Djiku expressed his excitement, stating, “Round of 16. Here we go @europacnfleague. Thank you again for your support.”
The victory was sealed with goals from Ferdi Kadioglu in the 36th minute, Dušan Tadić’s strike, and a quick-fire brace from Edin Džeko in the 59th and 61st minutes, respectively.
