Manchester City gaffer, Josep Guardiola has praised Egyptian giants Al Ahly. In a pre-match conference in Saudi Arabia ahead of the European Champions’ FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals against Japanese outfit Urawa Reds, the 52-year-old shared his opinion on Al Ahly’s incredible win against the star-studded Saudi side Al Ittihad.
Pep Guardiola said, “Al Ahly is one of the best clubs in Africa and the Arab region. No, not a surprise at all that they beat Al Ittihad. All Egyptians are interested in Al-Ahly and I saw that when I was in Egypt recently, here in Saudi Arabia too, they have a massive fan base.”
Al Ahly will lock horns against South American champions Fluminense in Jeddah at the King Abdallah Sports City in the first semi-finals of the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.
