AFCON 2023- Mozambique names 23-man Squad for AFCON 2023

Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde has named his absolute 23-man squad for AFCON 2023. The experienced winger Dominguez, who will captain them is included. The 40-year-old was part of the Mozambique team that played in the 2010 AFCON.

Atletico Madrid’s top defender, Reinildo Mandava, is also included on the list after missing in action for the national team since June 2023 due to injury.

German-born midfielder Amade and Portuguesse-born midfielder Guima are all included in the list.

Mozambique is placed in Group B alongside Egypt, Ghana and Cape Verde.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Ernan (UD Songo), Fazito (Ferroviario Nampula), Ivane (Associacao Black Bulls)

Defenders: Edmilson (Kaizer Chiefs), Infren (UD Songo), Bruno Langa (Chaves), Domingos Macandza (Costa do Sol), David Malembana (Noah), Mexer (Bandirmaspor), Nene (Associacao Black Bulls), Reinildo (Atletico Madrid)

Midfielders: Alfons Amade (KV Oostende), Amadou (Ferroviario Beira), Clesio Bauque (Honka), Geny Catamo (Sporting Lisbon), Dominguez (UD Songo), Guima (Chaves), Joao (Ferroviario Beira), Gildo Lourenco (Sporting Covilha), Shaquille (Ferroviario Maputo), Witi (Nacional)

Forwards: Lau King (Sagrada Esperanca), Stanley Ratifo (CFR Pforzheim).
