Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Brooks was in a buoyant mood in his pre-match conference against Mali on South Africa’s AFCON 2023 opener.
Hugo Broos, 71, recalled when he won the 2017 AFCON with Cameroon and how great the feeling was for him.
“You know when you’ve won it (Africa Cup of Nations), once you win it, you want to win it twice. It’s a fantastic feeling. I’ve said it before”, the experienced gaffer disclosed.
“It was a fantastic experience six years ago [with Cameroon] and you can be sure that I dream of it. To do it the second time [with Bafana Bafana], saying is much easier than doing it. So let’s start tomorrow [against Mali].” — Hugo Broos told the press ahead of the game against Mali in Korhogo.
The Belgian experienced manager is optimistic Bafana Bafana will have a very good tournament as they prepare to face the Eagles of Mali at the Amadou Gon Koulibaly Stadium in Korhogo.
