In response to the recent dismissal of Chris Hughton, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has initiated a search for a new head coach for the Black Stars.
A communique issued on January 25 outlines the GFA’s roadmap for hiring the next coach, appointing a five-member search committee to evaluate and recommend a candidate to the Executive Council for approval.
The GFA specified key criteria for the potential head coach, emphasizing the need for a proven winner in coaching top men’s national teams or clubs.
The selected individual should possess a football philosophy aligning with or complementing Ghana’s football DNA, in addition to holding the highest football license globally and boasting over 15 years of coaching experience.
“The Ghana Football Association has announced the roadmap to hire the next Black Stars coach and named a five-member search committee to evaluate and recommend a candidate to the Executive Council for approval,” parts of the GFA communique said.
Other essential qualities include a proven track record in team reconstruction, organization, and the development of young talent. The GFA is also seeking a coach with demonstrated discipline, tactical acumen, and leadership skills.
The committee appointed by the Ghana FA has a three-week timeline to identify and recommend the new coach for the Black Stars.
