Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich have successfully signed the highly-touted Ghanaian youth talent, Jonah Kusi-Asare, from Swedish Allsvanskan outfit AIK.
The 16-year-old forward is set to join Bayern’s youth team, marking a significant move in his promising career.
Bayern Munich reportedly invested over €5.3 million to secure Kusi-Asare’s services, fending off competition from notable clubs like PSV Eindhoven, Chelsea, and Club Brugge.
The German record league champions are keen on nurturing the young talent’s development within their esteemed youth ranks.
Confirming the acquisition, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, expressed the club’s satisfaction with the signing, stating, “Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential. He consciously chose FC Bayern because we convinced him of our approach to building and developing players. We are delighted to have him as part of FC Bayern’s future.”
Despite representing the Swedish U16 national youth team, Kusi-Asare maintains eligibility to switch allegiances and potentially represent Ghana on the international stage.
