Hearts of Oak, one of Ghana’s renowned football clubs, has introduced their newly appointed head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, and Managing Director, Delali Anku-Adiamah, to the playing body and technical team.
The duo officially assumed their roles on Friday, February 9, 2024, filling vacancies left after the dismissal of Dutch tactician Martin Koopman back in November 2023. Since then, the Phobians have been without a permanent coach, struggling in the first half of the season.
Aboubakar Ouattara, an Ivorian coach holding a CAF Licence A coaching certificate, has inked a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club. With a successful track record, Ouattara boasts domestic titles won with TP Mazembe and ASV of RDC.
Meanwhile, Mr. Delali Anku-Adimah assumes the role of the club’s Managing Director with immediate effect. Anku-Adimah brings with him impressive educational qualifications, including a PHD in Computational System Biology from the University of Manchester, UK, and a BSc in Computer Science with Business Management from the University of Birmingham.
In a video posted on the club’s YouTube page, the Hearts of Oak board of directors introduced Aboubakar Ouattara and Mr. Anku-Adimah to the playing body and coaching staff at the club’s training complex at Pobiman on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
While Anku-Adimah is expected to commence his duties immediately, Coach Ouattara is set to begin his work the following week, marking the start of a new chapter for Hearts of Oak under their new leadership.
