Otto Addo, the coach of the Black Stars, has shared insights into his decision to appoint new members to his technical team. The 43-year-old, who recently secured a 34-month deal, has selected former Black Stars players John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda, along with Moroccan-German coach Joseph Laumann, as his new assistants. This choice has faced criticism due to their perceived lack of experience, but Addo has provided positive reasons for their selection.

Explaining his decision, Addo highlighted his prior connections with the appointed members. He mentioned, “First of all, I knew all of them before the job. I played with John Paintsil together. For Fatawu Dauda, I met him in 2014 at the World Cup, and it was nice to get together to share ideas and also to fit.” Regarding Joseph Laumann, Addo emphasized his expertise, stating, “Joe, I know him from Germany, and he is absolutely an expert.”

Addo praised Laumann’s ability to analyze situations quickly and attentively, noting his contributions to team development. He expressed gratitude for the valuable inputs from his assistants, emphasizing their role in his improvement as a coach. Addo stated, “So they have given me very, very important inputs from and it’s really, really good to have them. I can feel after the first four days that they have helped me to improve, and this is what we want to have.”

Joseph Laumann serves as the first assistant, while John Paintsil holds the position of second assistant, and Fatawu Dauda takes on the role of goalkeeper’s trainer. The Black Stars are preparing for their second friendly match against Uganda at the Stade de Marrakesh later today, with kickoff scheduled at 16:00 GMT.

Despite criticism, Addo stands by his decision, emphasizing the value of familiarity and expertise in his chosen team members. He believes their collective input will contribute significantly to the team’s success. As they gear up for the upcoming match against Uganda, Addo and his technical team are focused on fine-tuning strategies and maximizing player performance.

The appointment of former players like Paintsil and Dauda brings a blend of experience and insight into the coaching setup. Their understanding of the game from a player’s perspective adds depth to the coaching staff. Additionally, Laumann’s expertise complements their knowledge, providing a well-rounded approach to coaching and tactical analysis.

The Black Stars aim to bounce back from their recent defeat and showcase improvements in their performance against Uganda. With Addo’s guidance and the support of his technical team, the players are motivated to deliver a strong performance on the field. The coaching staff’s collaborative effort is geared towards achieving success both in friendly matches and upcoming competitive fixtures.

As they continue their preparations, Addo and his team are focused on building cohesion and unity within the squad. Clear communication and shared goals are essential elements in their coaching philosophy. By working together seamlessly, they aim to maximize the team’s potential and achieve positive results in future matches.

The friendly encounter against Uganda provides an opportunity for the Black Stars to test their strategies and assess player fitness ahead of important competitions. Each member of the technical team plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting the players through these challenges. Their collective expertise and commitment are invaluable assets to the team’s success.

Addo’s decision to appoint familiar faces to his technical team reflects his trust in their abilities and shared vision for the team’s progress. As they embark on this journey together, Addo and his assistants are determined to make a positive impact and lead the Black Stars to victory. With their support, the team is poised to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals on the field.
