Nora Hauptle, coach of Ghana’s women’s national team, has unveiled her ambitious plans to make a significant impact at the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Having guided the Black Queens back to the tournament for the first time since 2018 through an impressive qualifying campaign, Hauptle is determined to propel the team to success on the continental stage.
Under her guidance, the Black Queens showcased their prowess by losing only one game during the qualifiers, securing a coveted spot in the championship.
Expressing her aspirations, Hauptle revealed that the team’s goal is to reclaim their position among the top four teams in African women’s football, with an ultimate aim of clinching the trophy.
“We want to come back to the top four of Africa,” she emphasized, with eyes set on reaching the semi-finals and potentially winning the tournament, “Maybe even win a trophy,” she saif in an interview with the BBC.
Despite facing setbacks, such as narrowly missing out on Olympic qualification, Hauptle remains undeterred, demonstrating her commitment to achieving success with the Ghanaian national team.
To bolster the team’s strength and depth, the coach has embarked on a scouting tour to identify talented players eligible to represent Ghana at the international level, showcasing her proactive approach towards building a formidable squad for the upcoming tournament.
