The feat marks the first time a Ghanaian club has reached this stage of CAF’s second-tier competition since 2004, when Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko both reached the final of the inaugural tournament.
Beyond the glory of reaching the semifinals, Dreams FC also secured a substantial financial reward, earning a notable sum of US$750,000 for their achievement.
An additional US$250,000 awaits if they progress to the final, with the potential to double their earnings to an impressive US$2,000,000 if they emerge victorious in the competition.
These significant financial rewards are part of CAF’s revamped prize money structure for the tournament, introduced in 2023.
Looking ahead, Karim Zito’s side faces a formidable challenge as they prepare to take on Egyptian giants Zamalek in the semifinals.
The first leg is scheduled to take place in Cairo on April 21, followed by the return leg in Kumasi seven days later, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter as Dreams FC aims to continue their historic journey in continental football.
