Despite the absence of a substantive coach amidst controversy, RTU capitalized on home advantage to end Samartex’s winning streak and secure a crucial victory, breaking their two-game winless streak in the Ghanaian top-flight.
RTU’s resilience and determination shone through as they clinched maximum points against the formidable Samartex at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, with the home crowd rallying behind them.
Although Samartex’s Evans Osei Wusu returned to the starting lineup, his efforts weren’t enough to prevent defeat in Tamale.
With RTU maintaining their lead and securing the win, they remain rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table with 28 points from 28 matches, despite an outstanding game against Dreams FC due to Africa campaign commitments.
With only five games left in the season, RTU’s prospects of avoiding relegation appear bleak, while Samartex continues to dominate the league standings with 52 points from 29 games, maintaining their position at the top.
