Ghana’s coach, Otto Addo, has reassured fans that their primary objective remains securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 43-year-old made these comments after unveiling his 26-man squad for the upcoming matches against Mali and the Central African Republic.
Currently, the Black Stars sit 4th in Group I with just three points after a hard-fought victory over Madagascar and a surprising defeat to Comoros. Despite this challenging start, Addo remains confident in their goal.
“Surely, we want to qualify for the World Cup, and that is the aim,” he stated at a press conference held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters on Wednesday. “It is difficult with our current position, but in the end, we want to qualify.”
Ghana will face Mali at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako on June 6, followed by a home game against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10.
