Ghana Premier League Week 34 Preview: Legon Cities eye final day victory over Gold Stars

Legon Cities host Bibiani GoldStars FCat the El-Wak Stadium in Accra in the final match of the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Cities, who are two points behind their opponents, will go above them in the final Premier League standings with a win.

Bibiani GoldStars FC secured another top-flight status following their 2-0 win against Medeama SC at home last weekend.

Legon Cities have managed to accumulate 44 points from 33 matches and are 12th on the league table, having won 2 and suffered 3 defeats in their last 5 outings.

The Royals have secured 36 points at home in this campaign, scoring 22 and conceding 13.

Coach Kwesi Fabin‘s side are the 6th best home performers after 16 appearances and have won their last 4 consecutive home matches.

Bibiani Gold Stars are currently 10th on the league table with 46 points after 33 matches, having won 2, drawn 1 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 encounters.

The Miners are ranked as the 3rd weakest away performers following 1 win, 6 draws and 9 defeats, scored 6 and conceded 23 goals.

Legon Cities have played Bibiani Gold Stars twice at home in the league since 2021/22 season with the Royals drawing one and losing one.

In the 2021/22 season,  Legon Cities drew 1-1 with Bibiani Gold Stars and lost 0-1 in the 2022/23 season.

Legon Cities can rely on Kwabena Boateng, Fredrick Akatuk, Mohammed Alidu, Stephen Asare, Mohammed Suleman, Morris Fuseini, Samuel Tenedu, Kamal Suraje, Frank Antwi, Frank Akoto, Nasiru Moro, Albert Yeboah, Stephen Blankson, Nicholas Mensah, Joseph Mereku and Abdul Rahaman.

Prince Kwabena Owusu, Alex Aso and Appiah McCarthy are likely to lead the attack for the Miners on Sunday. Vincent Atingah, Emmanuel Appau, Eric Bosomtwi, William Dankyi, Ronald Frimpong, Adraman Yahaya, Gideon Anaba, Frank Amankwa, Charles Gyamfi, Sadat Mohammed and Mawuli Wayo could also be available for selection.
