Aboubakar Ouattara rejects Kotoko’s mass exodus strategy, prefers dradual revamp for Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed reservations about adopting Asante Kotoko’s strategy of releasing a large number of players at the end of each season.

After a disappointing campaign, Kotoko parted ways with 21 players and are expected to make 14 additions.

In an interview with SportsObama TV, Ouattara questioned the effectiveness of this approach, saying, “You are sacking 100 and bringing 200, what is the results? He quizzed in an interview with SportsObama TV.

“Let us go slowly. When you go slowly, you have 100% chance to achieve something. Sacking 11, 22, 100 players, we bring in 100 and we start again, you are [wasting] money.”

Ouattara believes that a more gradual approach would be more beneficial for Hearts of Oak, who also had a tough season last year and narrowly avoided relegation. Instead of releasing a large number of players, he wants to focus on building a strong core and gradually adding new talent to the squad.

The club is reportedly interested in signing Ex-Kotoko midfielder Enoch Morrison and former Bechem United forward Augustine Okrah, but Ouattara’s comments suggest that they may not be looking to make sweeping changes to the squad just yet.
