Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Young Apostles have made it clear that their primary objective for the upcoming season is to secure their place in the top flight. The Wenchi-based club, which earned promotion from the Division One League last season, is now preparing for its debut in the domestic premier division.

Young Apostles achieved promotion after a dramatic victory over Techiman Heroes in the Division One League Zone 1 play-off. Following a 1-1 draw that extended into extra time, the team clinched their spot in the Ghana Premier League with a penalty shootout win at the Accra Sports Stadium, ensuring their participation in the 2024-25 season.

The new Ghana Premier League season is set to commence on September 6, 2024, with Young Apostles slated to face Nsoatreman FC in their opening match.

In an interview with Wontumi FM, club president Sammy Anim Addo shared the club’s ambitions, stating, “Our goal is to remain in the Ghana Premier League, develop five players who can represent various national teams, and ensure they become marketable in Europe because Young Apostles is fundamentally a development team.”

Addo also emphasized that the club’s commitment to player development will persist despite their promotion. “We won’t stop developing players just because we’ve reached the Premier League. Ghanaians should be on the lookout for our young talents, particularly those between 16 and 17 years old, who are poised to make a significant impact in the league,” he added.

As Young Apostles embark on their Premier League journey, their combination of ambition and dedication to nurturing young talent will be crucial to their success.
