Ghanaian defender Gideon Mensah has signed a one-year contract extension with Auxerre, keeping him at the club until 2026. The 26-year-old left-back initially joined Auxerre in 2022 from Bordeaux on a three-year deal, and with his contract originally set to end in 2025, he has now committed to an additional year.
Since joining the team, Mensah has become a crucial part of Auxerre’s defense, making 55 appearances. His strong performances were key in helping the club earn promotion back to Ligue 1 after their brief time in Ligue 2. Mensah’s solid defensive skills and his ability to perform under pressure have made him a vital player in Auxerre’s push for success.
Having represented Ghana at both the FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations, Mensah brings valuable international experience to Auxerre’s squad as they aim to compete at the highest level in Ligue 1.
