Michael Nkoah’s first-half strike secured Bibiani Goldstars a 1-0 victory over Bechem United at Dun’s Park on matchday five of the Ghana Premier League, extending the Miners’ unbeaten run this season.
Nkoah, who came on as an early substitute for the injured Samuel Attah Kusi in the 23rd minute, made an immediate impact by scoring the game’s only goal just ten minutes after his introduction. His timely finish gave the hosts a crucial lead.
Goldstars started the game brightly and nearly took the lead in the early minutes, only for Bechem United goalkeeper Aziz Haruna to pull off a brilliant save. Bechem United were forced into an early substitution as well, with David Asenso Asabere making way for Emmanuel Owusu in the 30th minute.
Despite these disruptions, the Miners managed to hold onto their slender 1-0 advantage as they headed into halftime.
In the second half, Goldstars controlled much of the game, keeping Bechem United pinned in their own half as they sought a second goal. Bechem’s defense held firm, but they were forced to open up in the final 15 minutes in search of an equalizer. However, Goldstars goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi made a stunning save in the closing stages, preserving the lead and securing all three points for the hosts.
With this win, Bibiani Goldstars continue their strong start to the season, maintaining their unbeaten run.
