“You played ‘shit’ in the last international break” – GFA president Kurt Okraku tells Black Stars

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku did not hold back in his critique of the Black Stars as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

Okraku described the team’s performance during the last international break as “sh**,” highlighting their lack of passion and commitment on the field.

With only one point from two matches in Group F, the Black Stars are under significant pressure after suffering a loss to Angola and a draw against Niger. This disappointing start has left Ghana trailing behind Angola and Sudan, putting their chances of qualification for next year’s tournament in Morocco at risk.

During his address to the players, Okraku emphasized the importance of representing Ghana and called for an immediate improvement in their performance.

“It’s crucial for us to recognize that we belong to a privileged group, and we are here to serve. What the people need from us is good performance, passion, and victories that heal souls and families,” he stated.

Addressing the players directly, he said, “In the last break, you were Scheiße (sh**). There was no passion, no aggression, no desire, and no extreme willingness to wear the strip of Ghana. This must change.”

The Black Stars will kick off their doubleheader against Sudan on October 10 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the return leg scheduled for October 15 in Libya.
