Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged his players to sustain their current performance levels as they gear up for the pivotal AFCON 2025 qualifying match against Sudan in Libya.
Despite a frustrating goalless draw in their first encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, Addo remains confident that his team can secure a much-needed victory in the return leg.
Speaking about the team’s prospects, Addo stressed the unpredictable nature of football but called on his players to stay focused and continue putting in maximum effort. “This is football. I can’t even guarantee my own life—maybe God will take it tomorrow. But we will give our best, and I believe we will be rewarded in the end,” Addo said.
While acknowledging that even a win may not guarantee immediate qualification, the coach emphasized the importance of determination and resilience. “We can win the next game and still not qualify. There’s still a long way to go. It will be tough, but with this performance, we can do it in Libya against Sudan,” he added.
The Black Stars will travel to Libya for the crucial return leg on Monday, October 14. A victory in this match would mark their first win in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers and significantly boost their chances of advancing to the tournament.
