Ghana’s national team head coach, Otto Addo, has expressed confidence that the Black Stars can defeat any opponent in Group F of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Reflecting on the team’s recent performances, Coach Addo believes Ghana has demonstrated the potential to secure victories in the remaining fixtures. So far, the Black Stars have played three matches in the qualifiers. After suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Angola in their opening game, Ghana followed up with a 1-1 draw against Niger and a goalless draw with Sudan.
Despite these mixed results, Coach Addo remains optimistic, citing the team’s dominant displays in matches against Angola and Sudan.
“I think it’s good Angola won against Niger, and now the situation is still in our hands. We need to win this match tomorrow, and once we are second, I think we all know and have seen that we can beat all of those teams we’ve played against. It’s still in our own hands, and that’s what we’re aiming for,” Coach Addo stated in a pre-match interview.
Ghana is set to face Sudan in a crucial Round 4 qualifier on Tuesday, October 15, in Libya. The Black Stars will be looking to secure their first win of the campaign and strengthen their position in the group. The match is scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
