Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains optimistic that the club can still challenge for the Ghana Premier League title, despite recent setbacks that have seen their form dip.
The Porcupine Warriors have experienced a sharp decline in performances, with back-to-back losses to Legon Cities and Heart of Lions at home. These defeats have seen them drop from second to third place in the league standings, now sitting on 15 points, four points behind the leaders.
“It doesn’t mean that it’s over,” Ogum said. “We still have so many games ahead. The way they have supported us from the beginning, they should keep supporting us that way. They should still have confidence and belief in us.”
Ogum urged the fans to continue their support and trust in the team’s potential, emphasizing the importance of maintaining respect for the squad. “They should still have confidence in the team, knowing the team is capable of winning games and the championship,” he added. “We are very happy with their support. We understand their emotions because they think the team is very good.”
Asante Kotoko will look to bounce back when they travel to Bechem United for their match in round ten of the league.
