Nations FC defender Emmanuel Boahen reflects on failed Asante Kotoko transfer

Nations FC right-back Emmanuel Boahen has shed light on his near move to Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko during the summer transfer window, revealing why the deal ultimately collapsed.

Boahen, who impressed with stellar performances in the Ghana Premier League last season, was on the radar of the Porcupine Warriors following a standout campaign where Nations FC finished 7th in their debut top-flight season. However, contractual obligations with his current club thwarted the switch.

“Few things didn’t work out for me to join Kotoko. I had to return to Nations FC because I was still under contract with them,” Boahen explained in an interview with Kessben FM.

Despite the setback, Boahen remains focused on helping Nations FC achieve their ambitious goals. The defender reiterated the team’s aim to clinch the Ghana Premier League title this season.

“Our objective is to win the Ghana Premier League at the end of the season. We are determined to grind out results in our games to better our chances,” he affirmed.

Currently, Nations FC sit second in the league standings, trailing leaders Bibiani Goldstars by just one point after 12 matches, as the race for the title intensifies.
