Marrakech set for 2024 CAF Awards

  • All you need to know ahead of the gala
  • The 2024 CAF awards will honour the best players, coaches, club teams and national sides from across African football.
  • The ceremony will focus on seven different categories of men’s football with one confirmed category in the women’s game.

After hosting the arguably the best football nations Cup, the Confederation of Africa football is to organise its annual prestigious awards 2024 which is set to take place on Monday 12 December 2024 at Marrakech in Morocco.The nominees for this year’s awards have been unveiled and further shortlisted to the top 5 finalist.

Ahead of the awards, other special events have been scheduled to take place in Marrakech. On the 15th of December, there will be a special time with some CAF legends with the media. These legends will include:

  • Obafemi Martins, Nigeria
  • Naby Keita, Guinea
  • Radhi Jaidi, Tunisia
  • Portia Modise, South Africa
  • Dennis Onyango, Uganda
  • Mohamed Zidan, Egypt
  • Victor Wanyama, Kenya

In anticipation of upcoming gala ceremony, this glamorous evening promises to be a nostalgic journey through the history of African football, filled with inspiring stories and memorable moments of these legends.

To recall, the 2024 awards will include the Men’s Best Player, Women’s Best Player, Young Players (best player under 21 years of age), Best goalkeepers, Best Club of the Year Trophy, Best Coaches of the year, Best National Team and many of the year

Adding a touch of elegance to this ceremony, Mr. Jalal Bouzara and Kate Scott will be the hosts for the evening.

The gala night will also feature an exciting lineup of musical acts, including Diamond Platnumz and Dystinct grooving to the best of African music!”

The awards ceremony which will take take place on Monday, 16 December 2024, Palace de Congres, is set to kick off at 19h00 local time (18h00 GMT/ 20h00 Cairo time/ 21h00 East African time).

Finally in the early hours of Monday ahead of the events, a meeting with the 54 CAF Member Associations Presidents, CAF EXCO, and CAF President 10h00 GMT to discuss key matters, including the 2025 CAF Calendar.
