Ghana’s Black Satellites will find out their group-stage opponents when the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations draw takes place in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

The draw, which will set the stage for Africa’s premier youth football tournament, will be broadcast live on CAF TV at 14:25 local time (12:25 GMT).

Two African football legends, former Malian international Adama Coulibaly and Senegalese great Souleymane Camara, will assist in conducting the draw.

Set to run from April 26 to May 18, 2025, the tournament will feature 13 teams, all competing for the prestigious title and a spot at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The top four teams from the competition will qualify for the global tournament.

As hosts, Côte d’Ivoire will automatically take position A1 in Group A, which will include five teams, while Groups B and C will each consist of four teams.

Meanwhile, defending champions Senegal will be placed in position C1, while Nigeria, who finished third in 2023, will take position B1.

To ensure a balanced and competitive draw, the CAF draw committee will use five pots to allocate teams fairly.

With some of the most promising young talents in Africa set to compete, the tournament is expected to deliver thrilling action, intense rivalries, and a showcase of future stars.

The 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup will take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19, 2025, and the top four teams from the U-20 AFCON will secure their place in the global tournament.
