Has Africa never produced a defender of Carragher’s caliber?

First thing first, Samuel Osei Kuffuor who enjoyed 12 successful years at Bayern Munich was far more intelligent, aggressive, composed, mature and tactical than Jamie Carragher. In every aspect of defending, Sammy Kuffuor was streets ahead of Jamie Carragher, the king of ‘own goals‘. Sammy Kuffuor was a better defender and enjoyed a fruitful career than Jamie Carragher, simply.

“Africa has never produced a better defender than Jamie Carragher. Name a better African defender. Can anybody name me a better African defender?”, Joey Barton said.

“Marcel Desailly, Kolo Toure”, his co-podcasters mentioned.

Joey Barton replied, “Kolo Toure is not a better defender than Carragher. You might say Koulibaly. The guy from Napoli. He was shit here, bad here and he got off to Saudi”.

“Again, again, we are going through here. This great continent that has produced phenomenal talent and deserves to be taken seriously as a major tournament, we can’t name one defender?”.

Who is Joey Barton? does he have any football legacy? What springs to mind so easily about Joey Barton when his name is mentioned is his bust-up with Osman Dabo at Manchester City in 2007 at Manchester City’s training ground.

Joey Barton was so indisciplined and behaved like someone who was on three tablets of RED every day. He was so sh*t as he described Kalidou Koulibaly so we have to ignore his useless comments.

Osmane Dabo narrated to SkySports what happened with Joey Barton in 2007

“I just pushed him away and turned my back to walk off,” Dabo told The Sun. “That’s when he hit me.

“I really don’t remember exactly what happened, but I’ve been told by all my teammates he hit me from behind, a right hook which hit me on the temple and knocked me out for a few seconds.

“As I started to fall he jumped on top of me, held my head and punched me twice more in the face.

“Apparently when I was on the floor he again punched me before being pulled off.

“When I came round, and it can only have been a matter of seconds, there was blood everywhere.

“I was spitting blood and my eye was clouded over when I realised what had happened. I wanted to go after him.”

Dabo said after returning from the hospital: “When I woke up this morning I looked at myself in the mirror with my face all swollen up and I looked like the Elephant Man.

“I’ve never known anything like this before in my career.”

Why would such a horrible human being make such derogatory remarks about African defenders? He should fetch his life and deal with his depression before attacking people.

Africa is a continent that has produced great great great players in every department on the pitch. When it comes to defenders, Ghanaian center-back Sammy kuffuor who was a big game player at Bayern Munich could be compared to any defender that has played the game since the year 2000. Kumasi-born Osei Kuffuor made 277 appearances and scored 10 goals for the German giants. He won 6 Bundesliga titles, 4 DFB Pokals, one UCL title, two DFB-Ligapokals and an Intercontinental Cup.

The three-time Ghana Player of the Year started and finished Bayern Munich’s two UEFA Champions League finals in 1999 and 2001 at Camp Nou and San Siro respectively. Kuffuor partnered Thomas Linke in the centre-back role and was the only foreigner among the three in the matchday squad who started the game. Ali Daei of Iran was an unused substitute while Hasan Salihamidzic of Bosnia was introduced into the game on 87TH minute by Ottmar Hitzfeld in the 1999 classic in Barcelona. Two years later, Kuffuor partnered with Swedish international Patrick Andersson in the penalty victory against Valencia in Italy.

On average, Sammy Kuffuor played 23 matches per season for the German Masters. He was an integral member of Bayern Munich’s back until he left for AS Roma in 2005.

Ivorian defender Kolo Toure and Kalidou Koulibaly of Senegal’s name were mentioned in the conversation. The late Diego Maradona once compared Koulibaly to Real Madrid great Sergio Ramos. At his peak, Kalidou Koilbaly was a better defender than Jamie Carragher. The Napoli centre-back had everything to define a modern-day defender – tackling, passing, anticipation, jumping, pace, strength and above all was very clever.

Kolo Toure was so legendary at Arsenal as he played a very key role in the Gunners’ success under Arsene Wenger before he left for Manchester City and then to Liverpool.

The complete lack of respect the GRADE D English former footballers are showing to Africa is so insane. How on earth can a sensible human being who follows football say Africa has not produced any defender of Carragher’s kind? What at all will Carragher put on the table to defend himself?

Someone who never won a single league title in his entire life, how can he be better than someone who played and played every day and won 6 titles with Bayern Munich? There is nothing that Carragher had ahead of Kuffuor and Kolo Toure.

Cameroon’s Rigobert Song who defined consistency with great examples was above Jamie Carragher. Rigobert Song won a lot at club football and international football.

Joey Barton should shut up and show some great respect to the continent.
