Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum has turned his attention to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) following his side’s hard-fought 2-1 quarter-final victory over True Democracy in the MTN FA Cup.
The win keeps Kotoko on course for the FA Cup title, with just one more hurdle before a potential final appearance. However, Ogum insists the immediate priority is the league, where Kotoko currently hold a slim one-point lead over Bibiani GoldStars.
“We just have to switch our attention to the league. When the time is due, about two weeks, we will redirect our attention to the FA Cup,” he stated, stressing the importance of focusing on each competition at the right time.
Despite the temporary shift, Ogum reaffirmed the team’s commitment to their FA Cup ambitions. “We are working harder and harder,” he added, as Kotoko strive to end an eight-year wait for the trophy and close the gap on record holders Hearts of Oak.
